Media & Communications
Vestar has a long history of investing in traditional media businesses, including publishing companies, cable and radio networks, and telecommunications and marketing services. These include such leading companies as Insight Communications, the eighth largest cable operator in the U.S.; radio-station network Pyramid Communications; Border Media Partners, the nation’s largest privately owned Hispanic radio broadcasting company; and Valor Communications, a major telecom provider in the Southwestern United States.
We believe many of these traditional media businesses are ideally suited to leverage the power of the Internet and the other new distribution channels made possible by the digital age. As a result, we’ve allocated increasing resources to the digital domain so we can be better partners for management teams navigating the rapidly evolving ad-based marketplace.
Chief among those resources is a Media team that brings significant investment and operating experience to the partnership, and includes former senior executives of Clear Channel Communications, MCI Telecommunications, Warner Cable and WebMD.
